Ellen (Nellie) Barron (nèe Woods) (Jerpoint, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny) passed away peacefully on Friday 31st July 2026 in her 96th year surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff in Archersrath Nursing Home, Kilkenny City. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, her parents, brothers and sisters. Nellie will be sadly missed by her daughter Carmel, sons Ritchie, Michael, Pat and Declan, her daughters-in-law Kathleen, Teresa, Patricia and Sally. Loving grandmother to Lisa, Emma, Michael, David, Eileen, Vicky, Padraic, Rachel, Vicky, Ciara and Dylan. Forever remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister Kitty, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

MAY NELLIE REST IN PEACE

In keeping with Nellie’s wishes her body has been donated to Medical Research.

A Memorial Mass for Nellie will take place on Friday 7th August 2026 in the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny at 11am.
