Bishop-elect Niall Coll Pope Francis has appointed him Fr. Niall Coll as Bishop of Ossory. His ordination date will be announced presently. Born in 1963 in Donegal, he was ordained in 1988. He taught at the diocesan college in Letterkenny, lectured at St. Patrick’s College in Carlow, and has worked as curate and parish priest in different parishes in Donegal. For 18 years he was professor of Religious Studies and Religious Education in Belfast. So, Fr. Niall follows St. Canice, a man from the northwest of the country coming to the southeast. He brings a wide range of experience with him to Ossory. Please God he will be a blessing to the Church of Ossory, and please God he will find a warm welcome awaiting him as he comes among us as our Bishop. Please remember to pray for him.
